Hi, i'm Theresa

Through writing, I share perspective and understanding shaped by lived experience, self-awareness and reflection.

Our emotional and physical wellbeing is shaped by many things — the people around us, the environments we live in, and the beliefs, habits and choices that influence how we experience life.

Our wellbeing is deeply connected to the sense of safety we feel to be who we are, both with others and within ourselves. When that sense of safety is missing, we can slowly lose touch with our needs, desires, and what feels true to us. Rebuilding that connection often begins by paying closer attention, noticing what we feel, what we need, and how we respond.

For much of my life, the qualities that now shape my work felt like challenges. As a highly sensitive person and deep thinker — someone who feels deeply and reflects carefully — I spent many years feeling ‘wrong’ or inadequate. My sensitivity, intensity, and strong need for meaning were often seen as weaknesses, and for years I carried that weight quietly while trying to make sense of who I was.

Gradually, years of chronic health problems and burnout led me into a deeper process of introspection and healing that helped me rebuild connection with myself and see my sensitivity as something to understand and work with rather than something that needed to be hidden or changed.

Alongside this, I’ve spent many years learning, observing, and reflecting more widely, both on my own experience and on the patterns and behaviours I’ve seen in others. Working with people from many different backgrounds and life situations has also deepened my understanding, alongside years of personal study in areas such as emotional intelligence, psychology, counselling skills, spirituality, astrology, MBTI, and the Enneagram.

I came to understand what it means to live in a way that supports rather than undermines my wellbeing. The areas that once challenged me most — self-awareness, boundaries, disconnection from myself, and personal integrity — are also where my understanding has deepened most.

The perspective I bring to this work has grown through lived experience, reflection, and self-awareness. Writing gives me the time to reflect more deeply, notice things more clearly, and respond in a more thoughtful and considered way.  Much of what’s shared here grew from a gradual process of learning to understand myself more honestly.

If any of this resonates, you’re welcome to continue exploring these experiences with curiosity, patience, and compassion. Often, change begins quietly — through noticing, learning, and making small, considered choices that bring you back into a closer relationship with yourself.
